Making The Conversation Hearts

Here’s a video I made on how I made the conversation hearts.

The first thing I did was paint the hearts with two coats of white chalk paint.

Next I painted two coats of each color of paint on each heart. For the mint green heart, I mixed the Folk Art Holly Leaf acrylic paint with the white chalk paint to get the desired color.

While the paint was drying on the hearts I used my Cricut Joy to cut out the vinyl sayings for the conversation hearts.

I love this idea to decorate the paper mache hearts! At my school, the girls go through a self-esteem program. At the end, they write compliments about each other on sticky notes and put them into paper mache hearts. I never thought about using my Cricut to label the outside of the lid with their names.
