Process Video
Begin by opening Cricut Design Space on your computer. Create a new project and upload your 1st Birthday cake topper design into Design Space.
Select the appropriate materials and using the Brayer to secure your cardstock and acetate individually to the mat, start cutting.
Once the Cricut has finished cutting, carefully assemble the various parts of your cake topper, using liquid adhesive to securely attach them together.
Wipe down the backside of the acetate “1” using a dryer sheet. Using the liquid adhesive, attach the “1” outline onto the acetate “1”. Let dry completely. Put the adhesive foam tape strips around the “1′ on the base to form a well for the chunky glitter. Glue the ends of the adhesive foam tape strips together. Add the chunky glitter to the well and attach the piece with the acetate on top of the “1” of the foam strips. Let dry completely. You can also glue the top of the foam strip pieces before adding the acetate piece for extra security.
Use your glue gun to attach the cake topper stick to the back of the topper.
Crafting a 1st birthday cake topper with a Cricut machine is a delightful and efficient way to add a personal touch to your little one’s celebration. With endless design possibilities and the precision of the Cricut, you can create a memorable keepsake that will be cherished for years to come. So, fire up your Cricut, let your creativity flow, and enjoy the process of making a magical cake topper for that special first birthday celebration!
Until next time,
