DIY Graduation Cake & Cupcake Toppers with Cricut | Class of 2025 Party Decor Tutorial

Got a graduation party coming up? Whether it’s your kid, grandkid, niece, or neighbor crossing the stage, I’ve got a fun and easy Cricut project that’ll make your dessert table look like you hired a professional. We’re talking custom Class of 2025 cake and cupcake toppers using only cardstock, a little glue, and your favorite cutting machine.

So grab your coffee (or your Diet Coke—no judgment here), and let’s craft these together!

What You’ll Need

Before we jump into Design Space, here’s what I used:

Design Space Setup: No Fancy Uploads Needed

All the designs used in this project are right inside Cricut Design Space—so no uploading SVGs or getting lost in download folders (we’ve all been there).

Here’s what to search for:

  • Graduation

Once you have everything on your canvas, size the cake topper to about 6.5 inches wide. For cupcake toppers, aim for 2 to 2.5 inches each.

Tip: Don’t forget to duplicate your cupcake designs so you’ve got one for every treat!

Cutting & Assembly: AKA the Fun Part

After you hit “Make It,” cut your layers by color. Use different mats or reuse the same one—whatever works for you. I like to keep my layers organized in stacks so I don’t accidentally glue a tassel to a diploma (true story).

Now for assembly:

  • Glue the layers together with a little adhesive or foam dots.
  • Attach toothpicks to the back of your cupcake toppers.
  • Pop a cake stick on the back of your cake topper and let it all dry.

Ta-da! You’ve got party-ready toppers that’ll wow the crowd and look amazing in photos.
